Welcome to the Lewis River Fish Passage Project Website
Welcome
The Lewis River Hydroelectric Projects consist of the Merwin Project, Yale Project, Swift No. 1 Project, and Swift No. 2 Projects, including the associated powerhouses, reservoirs, canals, transmission facilities, recreational facilities, fish hatcheries, and wildlife lands within the Projects’ Boundaries. PacifiCorp owns the Merwin, Yale, and Swift No. 1 Projects, while Cowlitz Public Utility District (PUD) owns the Swift No. 2 Project.
Per the Lewis River Hydroelectric Settlement Agreement and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission licenses for the above projects, the Utilities are completing various projects to benefit environmental and social resources.
The Utilities have initiated the design of additional fish passage facilities specific to aquatic resources. New facilities include Yale downstream passage and upstream passage at Yale and Swift dams. The design process is supported by experts in fish passage engineering from QRS Consulting, Kleinschmidt Associates, and Art Anderson.
This webpage has been established to provide public access to the design submittals for each of the three projects. Please see the tabs at the top of the page to review individual project information. Each document may be either viewed or downloaded after opening.
